The feedback we get means a lot to us

Many of our residents and families are kind enough to write to us to thank us for the care we have provided.
Here is a selection of recent letters we have received:

“My mum came to Conewood Manor in October 2019 and she was extremely poorly. With Conewood's nurturing care she survived for an additional 9 months. The staff go above and beyond for the residents (and for their family) and I can honestly say that it was their care and support that helped mum continue with her Alzheimers journey for so much longer than expected. Every single member of staff cares and this is evident. Mum was always clean, well-fed and looked after and I cannot fault Conewood Manor. Mum sadly passed away on 30th June but whilst I was with her at the end the staff would continually ask me if I was ok or if I needed anything (even though they had all of the relatives to care for). I felt that they genuinely cared for my mum. The final act of kindness was when they all stood outside the home as mum took her last journey past them. I would recommend Conewood without a doubt to anybody looking for care for someone they love.” (E.C 21.07.20)

“I have nothing but praise for the quality of care that my mother received during her time a Conewood. It had been recommended by a friend, but it still exceeded my expectations. The transition was smooth and my mother was treated with such compassion and kindness by the staff that she often believed herself to be in a top hotel. Her room was bright and attractive and there were large, airy sitting rooms in which to enjoy the wide range of activities; everything from armchair yoga to floristry. Children from the local nursery used to visit and older children played the piano or sang during impromptu concerts. The overall ambience was warm and friendly, and my mother ended her days with dignity.” ED

“To the management and staff. Thank you for your card and condolences, much welcomed by all of the family. Pamela was happy at Conewood and felt like she was amongst friends. She enjoyed the trips out and the musicians used to send her into raptures of delight. I will remember her stay under your hospitality with deep appreciation.” NW and family

“My father came into your care in April 2019 after being fast-tracked for NHS continuing healthcare as he was deteriorating at a very fast pace in hospital. My father is still with us today and I can only put this down to the care that all your staff gave and still give to him on a daily basis. He has a light in his eyes again and is enjoying life. He is treated with respect and dignity and we have just been informed that he has a permanent residence with you and myself and my family are absolutely delighted. We wish to thank everyone at Conewood Manor Nursing Home and cannot sing your praises highly enough for the care he has and will receive in the future.” PC

“One often hears tales of care homes that are negative. Yours is a shining light of how such an organisation should be run.” MS

“I am sure you are very proud of your managers and team; a perfect example of how a home should be managed.” MC

“From the day that my mum came to live there you have made sure that she has been clean, safe, happy and as comfortable as she can be. When she came to you back in October 2019 she wasn’t expected to live very long but with your care she started to get a little better (much to everyone’s amazement). I never had to worry when she was with you as I knew you took the very best care of her. The last few months have been so hard with COVID19 but as a home you did your very best to keep the staff and residents safe and you did a fantastic job. When mum was diagnosed with a blood clot and put on her syringe driver you allowed me to come in every day as we were not sure how long she would survive for as the clot could have been fatal at any time. The nurses and care staff treated me so nicely and always popped in to see if I was ok or if there was anything that they could get for me, on top of doing their daily work. I can honestly say in my experience of carehomes that you go above and beyond and truly made a difference in my mum’s life and for that I will be eternally thankful.” E.G - 07.07.20

"The staff and care at Conewood Manor for our Mum, who has sadly passed away now, exceeded our expectations. We so appreciate the arrangements that were made by the staff for us to spend time with our Mum in her final days. Thank you so much to the staff who cared for my Mum, they often spoke warmly of her which gave us peace of mind knowing that she was in good hands and really well cared for." T.S - 17.06.20

"Thank you so much for allowing my sister, brother and I to visit our dad today on his 92nd birthday. He looked really well and was pleased to see us and recognised us. He seemed really content and said how much he liked it there. We haven't seen him that calm and smiley in a very long time. The carer who brought him out to the garden was absolutely lovely and kind. But then every member of staff I have met at Conewood has been too. We are so happy he is in your care.” L.A - 15.06.20

“If I could just thank you and all your staff for looking after my mum and making her feel so welcome at her last stay with you, she came home full of lovely stories from her stay and how she had made many friends, I was worrying she wouldn't feel comfy with you as she is so used to being in the family home and environment but how wrong was I. LOL!” DS

“I genuinely can’t thank you and your team enough for everything they have done and do for my nan, the level of care and the way she has been treated has been fantastic. I know nan can be difficult at times but the nurses and carers have displayed real empathy and caring and I appreciate it. Having someone you care about going through dementia is so hard but your team have really helped myself and my family.

I must also say that Charlotte has been outstanding, her genuine care and commitment to the people residing at Conewood really does show through, and she goes the extra mile. She is a great asset to you and again I can’t thank her enough for the care and time she has spent with my nan.” SB
